Calling all High School Teachers!
The California Department of Education would like to invite you to send profiles of your outstanding deaf high school students for us to highlight during our Deaf Awareness Week celebration, September 20-24, 2010.
The purpose of highlighting students during the week is to bring awareness to our employees about the accomplishments of deaf students. There are many deaf students in California who are doing things to enhance their lives and the lives of others, without allowing being deaf to hinder their success. We want to showcase those students.
Therefore, we need a few students to highlight. We would like a brief description about the student including his or her accomplishments, goals, and activities, and any other information that sets him or her apart from other students. We would also like to include a photo. Please submit this information to me, via e-mail no later than September 13.
Click here to find a parent permission and release form. This will need to be mailed to the address below, as we will need the original signature.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your commitment to our celebration.
