Kathy M Stacey, CI & CT
Kathy has twenty-eight years of experience working with the Deaf community in the greater Sacramento area. She worked at NorCal Center on Deafness for twelve years in a variety of positions. The awareness and knowledge she accrued while working at NorCal has proven to be invaluable, and she is grateful for having had the opportunity to work with many Deaf advocacy pioneers.
Kathy completed the deaf studies program at American River College and has a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Sacramento. She has been a member of SaVRID since 1982 and served on the SaVRID Board of Directors as president, past-president, secretary, and three terms as member-at-large.
Kathy holds a Certificate of Transliteration and a Certificate of Interpretation from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Along with medical interpreting, she has wide-ranging experience in the post-secondary setting, working in undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level programs.
Kathy began working with EIS in January 2006 and now divides her time as a business consultant and as a community interpreter.
