Lindsey Divino, CI & CT, NAD IV, NIC, Interpreter Coordinator
Lindsey was born and raised in Sacramento. During her freshman year in high school, she took an ASL class at the local college and fell in love with the language. At that moment, she knew this would be her career. She was in a hurry to begin her journey, so she graduated high school mid-way through her sophomore year to enroll full time in the Interpreter Training Program at American River College. In 2003, she graduated from American River with her AA degree and Certificate of Completion from the Interpreter Preparation Program. Prior to that, she started volunteering at NorCal Center on Deafness, and after 6 months was hired on as an Interpreter Scheduler and Staff Interpreter. She loved her 4 years working for NorCal as she learned so much from the Sacramento Deaf community. In 2003, Lindsey received her Level III-Generalist Interpreter Certification (NAD III) from the National Association of the Deaf, NAD. In 2005, she received her Level IV-Advanced Interpreter Certification (NAD IV) from NAD along with her Certificate of Transliteration (CT) from RID, the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. In 2008, she received her Certificate of Interpretation (CI) from RID and in 2011, she received her National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from RID. She has been a member of Sacramento Valley Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, SaVRID, since 2003. Lindsey has worked for a few local VRS companies as well as freelanced for a few local interpreting agencies over the years. Her passion is medical interpreting, primarily ER situations. She feels lucky to have been given the opportunity to schedule for Eaton because she enjoys the challenge. She has an amazing husband to whom she met many years ago on a blind date through an interpreter friend and now have 2 children. Lindsey’s hobbies are interpreting, working, and spending time with her family.
