Cathy Bowers Portrait

Cathy Bowers, CI & CT, IC/TC, Interpreter Coordinator

Cathy, also known as CB, has been involved with the interpreting community for over thirty-five years. She has a BA in Deaf Education from Lenoir Rhyne College, has attended intensive summer interpreter training programs through Flager College, has an IC/TC (1986), CT (1999) & CI (2008) through Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

She has worked as a teacher at the Atlanta School for the Deaf, a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Deaf with Florida Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, a professional tutor for Deaf Students at St. Petersburg College, a contract interpreter in Florida, Georgia, California, and South Carolina, a staff interpreter for almost 10 years at California State University, Sacramento and a VRS interpreter through Sorenson.

She began her absolute favorite job in 2006. From her own words, this is working with Eaton Interpreting Services, Inc. as the “early morning” coordinator. She is the voice you will probably hear if you call in at 6:30 in the morning. Don’t feel bad for her though, she works remotely from South Carolina, so it’s really 9:30 AM.
